The future for the CPO Building is no less significant to Auckland than its history. It will be at the epicentre of the transformation of downtown Auckland. Opening in 2021, with a world class retail centre opposite (Commercial Bay), Auckland’s premier civic space (Lower Queen St), New Zealand’s largest public transport hub (Ferry, Bus, Train) and the established Britomart Precinct. The CPO Building is a beautiful character building that deserves preservation and celebration. In the context of Auckland’s architecture, the CPO Building is gem, a piece of history that has survived and now resides proudly in one of the most important locations in Auckland.
